For a comprehensive food experience of Italy, we have to start in Tuscany. Being in the middle of Italy, Tuscany’s traditional cuisine includes a selection of the best wines, the best oil, the best cheeses, and the best meat you can find in Italy. With our all-inclusive flavours experience, featuring all the wonderful wine, oil, cheese, and meat that Tuscany can offer, you can taste and savor it all.
For example, you can start with a visit to a local beef farm to learn about breeding, followed by Chianina meat tasting; you can then continue with a visit to an organic farm to taste their spicy goat’s cheese; and maybe finish off with a visit to a local olive oil factory for some exquisite olive oil tasting.
However, Tuscany is just the beginning: Italy is full of delicious typical and regional dishes. Like in Bologna, where, after an energizing breakfast with a gourmet caffè espresso, you could visit, accompanied by our English-speaking guide, the Quadrilatero and Mercato delle Erbe markets - the foodie heart of Bologna. There you could shop among different stalls and family shops to create your own unique lunch!
Furthermore, Italy has the best variety of local products you could wish for. For example, have you ever tried the “green gold”? Pistacchio is one of the most famous specialties of Sicily. In the Bronte area you can visit a local farm to learn how they cultivate and process this green gold product and to taste all the pistacchio-based delicacies prepared for you following old family recipes.
Our guides throughout Italy know the best off the-beaten-track restaurants, for you to experience a top-notch authentic gourmet meal from North to South. However, Italy also has a strong tradition of street food: our guide can accompany you to the best spots for the most flavoursome gelato you have ever tried, or for a mouth-watering slice of original pizza.
Let’s pick your adventureItaly is the birthplace of some of the most renowned wines in the world. From North to South, you’ll find miles and miles of vineyards, with grapes ready to be transformed in all kinds of different varieties of this precious nectar.
Our wine-tasting toursare the best way to discover Italian wines and the history behind the great labels. Start with a wine class in Florence, taught by our expert sommelier, followed by a tour of the best wineries in Tuscany: did you know that Italy is the largest wine producer and exporter in the world? And do you know how the local territory and climate affect the grapes? After this tour, you will be able to surprise your friends at home with all your wine expertise.
But enough studying, let’s start tasting: with a private tour of the Barolo wine area, in Piedmont: on a traditional Vespa scooter you’ll enjoy a typical lunch made of local specialties paired with a selection of the finest wines.
Furthermore, combine wine tasting with some exercise. On our wine hike of Mount Etna, in Sicily, you would visit a celebrated local winery whose wine production is a blend of old traditions of Sicilian farmers and the new winemaking techniques from all across the world. A unique experience, made possible by the support of local guides.
Let’s Talk About Your VacationHave you ever wondered how real pizza is made? Or how to make pasta like all grandmothers in Italy do?
With our exclusive cooking class in Bologna you will learn the techniques and tips to make 3
landmarks of Bologna’s egg pasta: tagliatelle al ragù, tortellini, and tortelloni. And of course, at the end of the class you will enjoy the meal you have prepared, accompanied by some local wine.
Would you like to make a traditional Italian condiment, starting by picking its ingredients? In Cinque Terre you can make pesto from scratch. Your course will take place in a perfect spot with a breath-taking view of Cinque Terre. You will begin by picking the ingredients, including basil from the owners’ own vegetable garden. They will show you how to make the traditional pesto sauce with the use of the mortar and pestle, explaining the ingredients and history. At the end of the class, you will taste your own creation on a bruschetta (toasted bread) together with a glass of Cinque Terre wine and a platter of cured meats and cheese.
If you have a sweet tooth, we have you covered: try taking a course at a chocolate-making school in Perugia (Umbria), well renowned for its particular Baci Perugina chocolates, or in Modica (Sicily), with its sugar crystals inside. Or try our gelato-making class in Sorrento, and enjoy your very own self- made ice-cream.
