The Island of Burano is the most picturesque of Venetian Island of the Lagoon. Famous for its lace-making industry, the pretty fishing village has its streets and canals lined by pastel coloured houses.
A museum celebrating the history of lace-making on the island is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10am until 4 pm. Nowadays, cheap imports from China and other countries have infiltrated the market, so you need to choose with care and discretion which pieces you buy.
