The Amalfi Coast town of Positano is a real gem, with a beautiful location, outstanding food and a wealth of activities to keep you occupied during your trip. If you’re planning a visit, take a look at the list below and get inspired.

Walk like an Italian

Positano is a walker’s dream. You can easily spend a whole day wandering through the town along winding back streets, finding stunning views and new surprises around every corner – along with plenty of opportunities to stop for a coffee and a break! For a more adventurous walk, you can hike the Sentiero degli Dei, or Path of the Gods, a five-mile trail that ends just above Positano. It takes a while, but the incredible views are more than worth it.

Shop till you drop

If you’re looking for chic, Italian designer brands, Positano may not be the Amalfi Coast shopping destination for you – but if you’re after trendy boutiques, handmade souvenirs and beautiful ceramics, leave some space in your suitcase! It’s hard to turn a corner in the town centre without stumbling across independent stores selling clothing, spirits and everything in between.

Get behind the lens

The Amalfi Coast is probably one of the most photographed regions in the world, but when you get there, it’s almost impossible not to take a few snaps of your own. The sheer perfection of its sweeping landscapes, quaint buildings and glorious sunshine make Positano a photography heaven.

Relax and Recharge

You’re on holiday, after all! Positano’s stunning beach has deckchairs for hire and beautiful views of both the town and the ocean. Bring a good book and just watch the world go by.

Rent a boat

A number of boat rental companies operate out of Positano, providing a really unique way to explore the area. From secluded beaches to otherworldly caves, there’s no telling what you might discover! Out on the water, you’ll also be treated to fantastic views of the town and the surrounding area from a totally different perspective. If you’re interested in the local marine life, a boat trip can even be combined with snorkelling or scuba diving for an unforgettable day out.

Take a day trip

Positano is truly wonderful, but it also makes a great base from which to explore the surrounding area. With daily ferry departures to Capri and a whole host of other destinations just a stone’s throw away, the difficult part is deciding where to go first!
