Tracing the history of Venice from its origins to modern times, the most popular of all Venice Tours features the famous landmarks of St. Marks Square combined with skip the line tickets for St. Marks Basilica and a delightful stroll through the enchanting Hidden Venice.

The first part of this Venice walking tours itinerary focuses on St. Mark's Square, including a visit to St. Mark's Basilica with skip the line tickets included in the price of the tour. You'll learn about the Doge's Palace (exterior only), Bell Tower, Clock Tower and the famous Bridge of sighs, as well as the other monuments of this beautiful square while enjoying an introduction to the history of Venice.

Then, escape the crowds, as the scond part of our Original Venice Walk explores the Hidden Venice. Enjoy a delightful stroll along narrow passageways, over delicate bridges and meandering canals following an itinerary littered with important monuments that illustrate that Venice is one giant open-air museum waiting to be discovered by the intrepid traveller.

As your eyes feast on the postcard images that abound in every direction, your guide will continue to narrate the story of the most unique city in the world. In the lively Campo Santa Maria Formosa, we'll discuss Venetian Architecture, Venetian Mercantile Empire.

Then, our tour continues through the back-streets of Venice to visit the Cannaregio district, where we'll admire the most beautiful well-head in Venice and the Pantheon of Venice (only exterior) where many important Venetians were laid to rest.

And, through the many important sights and in-depth historical narrations, you'll learn about illustrious Venetian characters like Marco Polo as well as more common citizens, that made this city of stone such a vibrant and magical place.

And, of course, we'll discuss modern day Venice, and what it's like to live in the most unique city in the world, though not always the most practical. Avventure Belllissime's Original Venice walking tours itinerary ends near the Rialto Bridge.

Andrew was a great guide. He clearly takes pride in Venice and Venetians. He told us great details about St. Marks Church and gave us a history of Venice from everything from the Campo to the water ways to the naming convention of the area. Andrew was very thorough and detailed and also brought humor to the tour. We appreciated his knowledge and his love for Venice. My family and I learned alot from him and we appreciated his knowledge. The tour was just the right amount of time, 2 hours.

This was a great tour with a wonderful guide. She showed us some major tourist sites, while adding interesting details from the viewpoint of a local citizen. She answered our questions and gave us a recommendation of a terrific pizza place for lunch.

Wonderful guide, Sabrina. Very knowledgeable. Great walk around Venice, including entry to St. Mark's basilica. Would be nice to have more time in the church. We appreciated historical perspective as we toured the city.

The guide (whose name was Rosanne if I remember correctly) was very friendly and knowledgeable, answering whatever questions came up. She was able to shift effortlessly from questions about historical background to suggestions about good places to have lunch.

The starting time of the tour was also great: Not too early in the morning, and well-timed to be able to see the inside of St. Mark's Basilica lit.

Rome's guide Francesca was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of insight with both tours we took with her.

Venice's guide was not that clear to understand and it seems like a lot of walking to no place special and not too much history other than at the very beginning.

A very clear and fascinating native Venetian guide (Arianna). Good to "skip the line" at San Marco. Walk well planned and not too exhausting even on a warm afternoon.
