Your local expert guide will bring to life the remains of Pompeii that will include many insights into how life was in Roman Times and that will concentrate on all the must-see sites of the vast ruins.
Our walking tours of Pompeii include: visits to the interiors of the homes of Pompeii's wealthier citizens, Ancient street cafe's where locals dined and where you'll learn about traditional Roman cuisine, an Ancient brothel, amphitheatre, and incredible frescoes preserved by the ashes of Vesuvius. As well as enjoying numerous anecdotes about life in Pompeii that will include some of the Graffiti dating back to Roman times that are still visible throughout the ruins.
After learning the secrets of Ancient Pompeii your English-speaking driver will drive you down to Positano where you can enjoy a stroll around the narrow alleys of Positano which enjoys an unsurpassed position along the Amalfi coast where delightful white and pastel-coloured houses litter the hillside. Along with the beautiful beaches, its ancient fishing port, the splendid majolica dome of the church of Santa Maria Assunta and artisan shops you'll enjoy a taste of the "Dolce Vita".
After an optional lunch at a recommended restaurant with superb views of Positano and the coastline, your driver-guide following the coastal road will take you down to Amalfi. OPTIONAL BOAT TOUR: for those who wish you can take a boat tour of the Amalfi Coast that will take you to the town of Amalfi where the driver will meet up with you again (an additional cost of 18 euro per person).
The town of Amalfi, enjoyed a prestigious past when it was once a major naval power. Made of a labyrinth of narrow lanes and alleyways that climb the surrounding hills, the town features typical mediterranean style architecture with houses piled one on top of the other. Here you can sample the local Lemoncella drink or perhaps visit the celebrated "Paradise Cloister" built in Arabian style that dates back to the thirteenth century.
