Description

Enjoy a semi-private Rome Day Tours to Pompeii & the Amalfi Coast , limited to 7 people per vehicle , and experience the enchanting Amalfi coast and the extraordinaly archeological site of Pompeii.

On the way to the Amalfi coast, stop at some scenic view points before reaching Amalfi, a town that enjoyed a prestigious past when it was once a major naval power. Made of a labyrinth of narrow lanes and alleyways that climbs the surrounding hills, the town features typical mediterranean architecture style with houses piled one on top of the other. Here you can sample the local Limoncello drink in one of the many cafes' or perhaps visit the celebrated "Paradise Cloister" built in Arabian style that dates back to the thirteenth century.

After some free time to explore the town, our Rome day tours of Pompeii & Amalfi continue to Positano via the famous Amalfi coast road - the drive offers breathtaking views and we make several photos stops en route to give you the possibility to capture the truly enchanting beauty of this part of Italy.

In Positano, enjoy free time for lunch and to walk around this exclusive delightful village with its white and pastel-coloured houses litter the hillside. Along with the beautiful beaches, its ancient fishing port, the splendid majolica dome of the church of Santa Maria Assunta and Artisan shops, you'll enjoy a taste of the "Dolce Vita".

After lunch we leave Positano and following the road uphill away from the coast, where we will stop at another scenic view point to enjoy the last magnificent view of this delightful part of Italy, and shortly afterwards you'll be admiring views of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius in all its glory.

Our next destination includes the famous archaeological site of Pompeii, where you will enjoy a two-hour tour conducted by our local English speaking expert guide. Enjoy a journey back in time as you'll visit the must-see highlights of this site and learn about life in Ancient Pompeii - the habits, lifestyles and peculiarities of the Ancient Romans as you tour the ancient market areas, foodtstalls, typical Roman homes, brothels, and admire the delightful frescoes all preserved by an erupting volcano that still dominates the Pompeii.

Our Small Group Rome Tours to Pompei & Amalfi will leave you with memories that will last a life time as you discover some of the most enchanting places of our "Bel Paese", Italy. This is a long day tour but a very rewarding one! The tour will conclude back at your hotel in Rome.

Note: The order of the sites visited during the day may be different from the order as presented in the tour description. When being picked up at the hotel in the morning, it is important to verify the driver is from Avventure Bellissime, as at there are several companies organizing pick ups at hotels at the same time.

I enjoyed this tour very much. Went in December 2016 and was picked up & safely dropped off at iL Cantico Hotel. So thankful to our Mercedez Benz van and chauffeur tourguide Khan. Great driver.
Stopped at Pompeii and an awesome place to go learn about this hisyoric village. Thanks to our tourguide "Jorge" very funny and nice.We stayed about 2 hours here.
Then we stopped by the Amalfi Coast~ the villages ~ Positano, Sorrento, Amalfi. Had some pictures taken , had lunch at a restaurant down by the beach. Visited old churches - a few smaller ancient churches and a basilica i think it is called "Assunta". I wish we had some group pictures w/ others so we have a souvenir of the folks we met in our tour group. Really fun. Got dropped off at my hotel around 10pm. We started at 0800. Highly recommended. I just hope this comment will post as it is asking about letters and numbers on the image. I dont see any and i am using my smartphone. Hope this one post i tried multiple times since January 2017. lol i want to give great review to this great tour company. Keep up the good work Avventure Bellisime!--Carm

It was a great trip. Khan was our tour guide and was exceptional. We also had a great guided tour of Pompeii. I had been once before with another company and this tour was so much better. The pick-up and drop-off from our hotel was great. I would definitely book again for another tour when we return to Italy!

My wife and I toured with Avventure Bellissime on your Rome Day tour to the Amalfi Coast touring Positano and Pompeii . Absolutely great tour and fantastic service. Our Tour Guide Roberto was fantastic and the tour itinerary was outstanding. Loved the fact that we did not have to meet somewhere and the tour picked us up at our hotel. Could not ask for any better tour.

My family of 4 took this tour on Wed. June 1st. David picked us up right on time at 6:30am. He did a great job all day. He was very personable, informative and funny (his singing is just OK, ha!). We enjoyed the 2 hour trip down to the Amalfi coast. Driving and stopping around the coast was breathtaking. Paying extra for the small group was well worth it.

After Amalfi, and around 3pm, we reached Pompeii and really enjoyed our tour although it was a little bit rushed. We actually had the same guide (Hector) as we did in 2000!! The Joe Pesci clone was better than ever!! All in all, a VERY full day, but also VERY fun!! Again, David was really engaging all day and we were all spent when we were dropped off at 9:30pm. Can't wait to do it again!

This trip (today) was booked as a last minute idea and I'm so glad for it! We were a group of 7 people, picked and dropped off from our accommodation, at the prompt times suggested, in a very comfortable air conditioned van by our lovely driver and guide Anna :-) The trip was absolutely wonderful, breathtakingly beautiful and having the weather play along was great!

There were sensible quick stops for food, picturesque photo opportunities along the drive along the Amalfi Coast, including two longer stops to explore Amalfi and Positano. Anna was just lovely, a careful driver, attentive to our requests and needs, and gave us insightful stories along the long drive.

The trip to Pompeii was absolutely fascinating! Any tiredness from the lunch and sun was forgotten, thanks to our very enthusiastic witty tour guide, Guitano! He was just the best, and such an ambassador for Pompeii (and the Roman Civilization really!) - he packed in a wide breadth of ruins for us to see in a short span of time, and with his wonderful narrative, he brought the ruins to life! Absolutely fantastic!

Overall, a truly memorable, stunning

Aside: walking shoes for Pompeii and a windjacket were useful. A towel, swim suit, sunglasses and sunscreen for the quick-sea-dip enthusiasts!

This was our first tour in Italy. Our guide Davide was engaged, funny, and informative. We also took another tour to Florence but the guides on the Florence trip were quite the opposite. Unlike Davide, the driver did not say a word to us and the English speaking guide did not introduce sites to us either. Davide made us laugh, showed us where to go and stopped at the places where we can take great photos. We had an enjoyable trip to the Amalfi coast and Pompeii.

This was hands down the best tour I have done during my holiday (I did three in total). Everything was more than perfect thanks to our guide Max who did a wonderful job. On the way to Pompei he gave us lots of information about the region, history, culture, etc and prepared us for what we are going to see. The part in Pompei was really nice and fascinating. And then when we set up for the Amalfi Coast, the magic started. Unparallelled views of the bay and the sea accompanied with stories and details told by Max and Achille, the other guide. It was like a dream, and so was Positano, our first stop. They showed us all the houses and the interesting details along the way and we stopped for pictures which was really nice. During the tour, Max and Achille were both very thoughtful and kept checking if everyone was OK or if we needed anything. Max also handled the curvy roads of the Amalfi coast so well and was driving very safe. Positano was out of this world. and the sea food there was easily one of the best I have ever had. Then we continued to the drive to Amalfi which was magical and so romantic. Trying the Limoncello is a must, it's so fresh and tantalizing.. As the tour ended Max did his best to get us back to Rome in good time. Very special thanks to him and also to Achille who helped a lot. Wonderful job guys!

Our Pompeii and Amalfi Coast trip was excellent! In the morning our guide Brando picked us up promptly in front of the apartment we were staying at. He was warm and welcoming. It's easy to see he loves what he does. As we began our drive along the highway, Brando kept us informed as to our schedule and shared both factual and anecdotal stories regarding each town/region we were passing. When we arrived at Pompeii we were greeted by our local guide Gaetano who was equally excellent. He joked that he knew Pompeii better than his home and it showed. We covered a lot of ground and learned a lot regarding this breathtaking site. Once the Pompeii portion was complete we continued to drive and covered many more regions in Italy stopping for local treats like lemonicello. One of my favorite stops was in Positano! Lunch was delicious. We had plenty of time to stop and take in the beauty of the Amalfi coast. Although we had inclement weather, we trekked on. Brando did an excellent job making it comfortable in the van and was very attentive to the needs of our group. I am very impressed with this tour. The cost is minimal compared to the value of the experience my boyfriend and I had. I will highly recommend your tour company to friends and family visiting Italy. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!!!

I took this tour in February 2016. The tour was great! I got picked up from my b&b at 7:15am. We then headed for Pompei and took a bathroom break along the way. The tour of Pompei with the English speaking guide was a huge benefit, our guide knew a lot and it definitely added value to the trip. After Pompei we went to the Amalfi coast, this is such a beautiful drive but I would not reccommend if you get motion sickness as this road winds an incredible amount of times. Stopping in Positano an Amalfi was just amazing. I would bring snacks with you though, the tour makes for a long day.

Overall/in general, the tour was excellent. It would have been a "5-star" except that the driver picked up the wrong couple at one hotel as he did not check his paperwork vs. their ID and did not find out until we were 30+ min outside of Rome...then we had to return in rush hour traffic to drop them off and pick up the correct couple...he drove crazy to make up the time...but we still missed breakfast and could not eat until lunch...stressful. We would not recommend eating lunch at Chez Black in Positano as it was expensive for the food we received and not that tasty and service was slow/lackluster...this was recommended by our driver, but we would recommend eating somewhere else. The Amalfi coast views were great, but do not expect to get great pictures as the roads are curvy and driving crazy. Towns are cute, cool, but very touristy. The Pompeii tour with Gaetano was very good, but 2-hours was too short or so it seemed! He was very animated, kept us moving, and had a lot of insight as to the workings of the town and how they compared to modern times. For the price ($475 USD for 2 + exchange rate), should have included at least the entry tickets to Pompeii or lunch somewhere. With all that being considered, we would definitely recommend this tour.

What a super tour this was. It sounds like a long day, but it went so quickly. Some of this is to the credit of our driver/guide, Brando, who was excellent. His engagement with the group was friendly, interesting and very helpful, thanks Brando. The scenery, the villages, the food, the whole coast road experience was unforgettable. Enough for us to decide to return to this area for a longer time in the future. Then add the visit to Pompeii, which was just incredible. At no time had we expected to see such a complete city as there is, outstanding. Here, also, our guide made the tour of Pompeii and absolute delight. With an obvious passion for what he does, Gaetano provided an exceptional insight to the city and its inhabitant and the way in which life was in those ancient times. His humour and knowledge combined to make this the best tour imaginable.

We enjoyed our tour with you! It was a very long tiring day but we expected this due to the distance travelled.
The vehicle was very comfortable and plenty of room and our tour guide did an exceptional job driving all day, especially along the very windy Amalfi Coast road. We felt very safe.
We would have liked a couple of more stops for photos and and a little less time stopping in the towns.
Pompeii was amazing! Our guide was passionate and very informative, I enjoyed this part of the trip more than I expected.
The only thing that could have improved our tour would have been more information from our guide. He was very polite and kind and did point out the occasional interesting thing to see but I feel there could have been a lot more. For example, where do you go to try the free limoncello? More information on the people that live on the coast, what do they do? A bit more about the nature etc.
overall we really enjoyed our day.

The tour to Pompeii & the Amalfi Coast was AMAZING! Exceeded expectations :)
The drive: Driver (sorry forgot his name), arrived promptly at designated time. It became a bit cramped as van was full and I had to sit in the middle in between the driver and another passenger, but the driver was so friendly and made me comfortable. He made the trip even more enjoyable with his sense of humor and knowledge of the areas we visited. He even went out of his way and purchased a new car charger for our cell phones!
Pompeii tour: Guide was very passionate and knowledgable.
Amalfi coast: So incredibly gorgeous!! The views are breath taking and you stop for pictures along the way and also have a lunch break in Positano.

I went on this tour a few weeks ago, and had a wonderful time. My only regret is that it didn't last longer, but considering the amount of ground we had to cover, I believe they fit in as much time as was reasonably possible.

"Brando" was our guide, and he was absolutely fantastic - extremely courteous, considerate, and friendly. He took care to point out things of interest along the way, and to do his best to slow down or stop briefly so we could take photos out the window at points between our regular stops. I would not want to have to drive the narrow, twisting road along the Amalfi coast, but I felt perfectly at ease with Brando at the wheel. He and the company also went above and beyond to accommodate my request to be dropped off at a different location upon our return to Rome that evening, as I had tickets to an opera and knew I would be cutting it close on time. It was so nice to be picked up at my apartment that morning, and then dropped off at my requested location that night, without having to worry about missing a train or finding a taxi.

My one suggestion would be to skip the restaurant that they recommend for lunch in Positano - the setting is amazing and the food was fine, but in retrospect, I would rather have gotten something quick and spent more time looking around the town, rather than sitting in a restaurant. That's a matter of personal preference, though.

Our guide at Pompeii was Guitano (I'm sorry, I'm not sure of the proper spelling), and he was excellent! We didn't have enough time to see everything, but he fit in as much as he could in the time we had, and shared a lot of interesting facts. He was able to make the city come to life unlike a mere audio guide or book.

In all, it was a beautiful, amazing day, and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who doesn't have the time for an extended visit to this gorgeous part of Italy. Even a brief glimpse of this stunning area is worth your time.

We did this trip on 11th June and although a long day, we enjoyed it and learned a lot. Our guide and driver was pleasant and punctual. We advise anyone doing this tour to not go to Chez Black - the restaurant at Positano recommended by our guide . The pricing was a rip-off - for example 2 glasses of water with added lemon juice cost 18 Euros, made up of 6 Euros per drink and a 'bar' additional amount of 6 Euros. There are much cheaper and better options. Apart from this disappointment, the tour was good value.

Just wanted to touch base and let you know how much we enjoyed our day trip. Thank you for offering the pick up/ drop off at our friend's home, just west of Rome. I don't think we could have taken the trip without that transportation, given the early pick up and bus/metro schedules. Our driver, Marcello, was on time and very friendly and the van was very comfortable. He was a terrific tour guide the entire day and excellent driver up and down the coast. That was a long 14 hour day for Marcello and I think we all appreciated his good humor and professionalism.

The tour guide that you use in Pompei was excellent ( I don't remember his name), sharing his knowledge of the area with us.

We really liked the fact that use smaller vans/cars and not the large buses. I would not want to drive the Amalfi coast in a large bus. We will definitely use your company again and will recommend your services to others.

Thank you so much for such a memorable day trip!

The van was clean and fit our group. Pompeii was first and we were glad because it was cool and beautiful weather. We really loved our Pompeii guide Gaetano. He was terrific and fast and knowledgeable. He knew exactly how to handle a group. He made it interesting and understandable to the old and to our 12-year old son. The lunch in Positano, after lovely picture stops was really good and we had sufficient time (but not too much) to eat a nice meal by the sea and shop a bit and for our son to play for a few minutes on the beach.
