We enjoyed our private gondola ride and it was a very interesting/enjoyable ride. The only thing that bothered us was that the actual gondola we rode in was not as pretty as the other gondolas. Sounds petty, but for $170 USD, we would have expected a nicer gondola...brass items had not been cleaned in a very long time. Thanks.

I didn't want to go to Venice and not take a gondola ride and as I was solo on this trip, this tour was a good option. There was some confusion at the gondola station as to what they were supposed to do with the tour voucher. I called the Avventure Bellissime office and they got it straightened out right away. I was glad to get the gondola ride, but I have to say there were a couple of things that disappointed me. My gondolier wasn't wearing the striped shirt, he didn't point out any of the sights except for Santa Maria della Salute (which is huge and therefore kind of hard to miss), he stopped at a different gondola station to enable another gondolier to move a dock to another gondola, and there were several delays in the smaller canals to let other boats go by. I understand the canals can be small and there is undoubtedly a hierarchy in which boats go first, but I felt like he didn't want to be doing this tour and did his level best to make it as short and uninteresting as possible. He managed to make it about 25 minutes. Perhaps his behavior was due to there only being one passenger.

That being said, the gondolier's apparent attitude was not Avventure Bellissime's fault (although they may want to address this somehow in the future). Overall, this tour was worth the money (to get a gondola ride) and yet not worth it at the same time. Not unhappy, just not thrilled with the experience.
