Escape the crowds of Venice on our small group Venice day tours excursion to explore the captivating region of Veneto. Stroll around enchanting hilltowns, savour the delicious cuisine and famous wines of the Veneto and visit a famous Renaissance country estate designed by Andrea Palladio.

Travelling at a relaxed pace, along scenic back-roads, with plenty of free time, it will feel as if our Venice Day Tours Hill Towns of Veneto excursion was designed just for you. Visit Medieval Marostica, with its imposing fortified castle and giant chess-board permanently laid-out in the town square, where the famous living game of chess is played every two years. The game revolves around a legend dating from the 15th century when the fate of one young lady was decided on the outcome of a game of chess. While at Marostica enjoy some free time to walk around this lovely small town.

We'll then visit the picturesque town of Bassano del Grappa, featuring a magnificent Palladian bridge crossing the mighty Brenta river. Enjoy a walk around its narrow streets, spacious squares and at spectacular viewpoints, enjoy superb views over the surrounding hills and mountains. Here you'll also have the chance to sample some of the local firewater - "Grappa" (Optional). Bassano is also a shopper's paradise famous for its ceramics produced in town, porcini mushrooms and other local delicacies, you can take the opportunity to do some shopping during your free time.

The last hilltown we visit is the enchanting and elegant Asolo, the pearl of Veneto, perched on lush-green hills. Along with its delightful gardens, palatial villas, beautiful renaissance palaces, the spectacular views of the surrounding countryside have inspired poets and writers over the centuries, the likes of Robert Browning and Freya Stark.

A true gem with a lovely castle and an imposing fortress, you'll fall in love with the peaceful atmosphere of this town, one among the "most beautiful borghi" of Italy. After lunch in a typical trattoria (optional), we'll continue our tour visiting a Palladian Villa designed by Andrea Palladio.

Visit Villa Barbaro (Tue-Sun) or Villa Emo (Mon), both splendid examples of Palladian country houses. Although the Villa Barbaro is more famous because of its famous frescoes by Veronese, the Villa Emo is also an important Palladian villa with delightful gardens and frescoes by Palladio's favourite artist Zelotti.

Our day together concludes with a casual wine tasting at a local winery located in the Prosecco wine region, which offers stunning views of the terraced slopes thickly planted with vines. And after a refreshing glass or two of Prosecco wine, relax as we return back to Venice.

An absolutely fabulous day trip, we saw spectacular views, and beautiful architecture. Our guide Justin was first rate, very knowledgeable and took us to lovely places (the chocolate shop was out of this world) we can't praise him highly enough.

We would recommended this day trip - not to be missed!

Having been to Venice several times is was nice to see the picturesque hill country of Veneto especially. It had a good amount of free time to explore and our guide was very nice. However, I did notice that our guide did not accompany our group into some the venues, such as the Palladian House. I noticed a couple of other tours whose guide came in and gave an interesting commentary on the architecture and frescos that was more engaging than the pamphlet alone.

I am a landscape artist and he still sends me beautiful shots of the area for inspiration.
Of course who could not be inspired by the Italian countryside.Thank you to Justin for the fun adventure.

It was a lovely day outside of Venice. Our guide and driver (Giovanni) was excellent and our lunch in Asolo was delicious. I'm sorry we weren't able to see Villa Barbaro because I think it is much more interesting than Villa Emo. (I took this tour with you maybe eight years ago and was able to see Villa Barbaro.) I enjoyed the tour equally well both times I took it. Each guide has something special and unique of interest to add to the trip.

I will recommend your company to my friends.

I took two tours with you, a day tour of Veneto towns with Giovanni and a short tour of the Doge's Palace.

The day tour of the Veneto was fantastic. Each of the three towns were charming and the restaurant Giovanni took us to had the best food I ate in Italy. Palazzo Barbaro was spectacular. The wines we tasted were delicious and the winery has the most gorgeous view in the world. Giovanni was informative and pleasant. The car was comfortable. A memorable, perfect tour.

Wonderful day out in the Veneto hills. Our guide Marco met us efficiently at the busy Tronchetto stop. The nice van was full and we seven got along great all day long. HIghlights were the relaxing lunch at Asolo, Asolo town itself, tasting grappa in Bassano del Grappa, and touring Villa Barbalo. We ended up back at our hotel at 7, an 11 hour day, but most rewarding. I highly recommend this tour as a chance to see more of Italy than just Venice.

I have already sent in a very positive review to Trip Advisor but it takes about 48 hours for it to be published. We were very happy with the service, the car and the guide Giovanni. I would have no hesitation about recommending AV to another tourist. Both the tour and the guide were excellent.

'The weather was poor, grey and wet and an ACTV strike made getting to the Tronchetto starting point, but once in the very comfortable mini-bus we had a superb introduction by our guide Giovanni to the tour, and what we would see during the day. Giovanni has excellent English and a very good sense of humour, which made even the wettest parts of the day a pleasure.
My husband has some difficulty in walking and he was grateful for the consideration shown. We all enjoyed our lunch very much, and the grappa tasting!
There was a good balance of information on history of the region, architecture, the power held by the various towns, and of course the visit at the end to the vineyard. It would have been easier to hear about the wines if another group there had been quieter, but that was not the fault of the tour. Rude shouting people are everywhere.
We returned to Piazzale Roma feeling we had learned a lot about the history of the Venetian Republic. Thank you for arranging such an interesting day, and thank you Giovanni for doing so well, even with an old woman who wanted to tell you ALL about Palladio!

I am totally impressed with the Avventure Bellissime tours.

I took the small group tours of Grand Canal and secret Venice boat tour, of Day Trip of Veneto, and of San Gimiginano and Siena from Florence. The trips were perfectly organized, the transportation absolutely first class, and the tour guides faultless in showing us around and giving pertinent information. We got time to explore on our own and have our own experience too. Wow! Such an incomparable job.

I took several other tours with a different company and wished I had booked those with Avventure Bellissime too. When I return to Italy you can rest assured I won't make that mistake again.

Thank you for such a wonderful time.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank Avventure Bellissime for the excellent tours offered.

First of all, we got a lot of help from your team during the pre-booking and booking stages. Secondly, the tours themselves were exceptional. We have joined the tours to the Veneto Hill Towns on 27th July 2014 with Daniele, Doge's Palace on 28th July 2014 with Arianna and Dolomites on 31st July 2014 with Alessandro. All tours were very well-planned and the guides delivered very knowledgeable and interesting explanations, which all helped to make our visit to Venice and the surroundings a wonderful and memorable one.
