And in the afternoon, savour our relaxing half-day wine tours of the Chianti wine region of Tuscany.

In the company of one of our expert licensed guides of Florence enjoy small group walking tours of Florence that focus on the life & times of Renaissance. See all the must-see sights of the city of Florence as well as some hidden corners as we discuss the ideas of the Renaissance and the famous characters that brought this movement to life in Florence. Last but not least we’ll visit Michelangelo's masterpieceat the Accademia Gallery, the 15 foot tall original statue of David, an amazing work of art for its potent aesthetic presence. The tour will end inside the Accademia at 1pm.

After a lunch break (on your own), we’ll meet again for the second part of our tour, featuring the Tuscan country and Chianti Classico wine area. Before entering the Chianti wine region we’ll stop at Piazzale Michelangelo for the best view of Florence. We’ll then reach San Donato in Poggio to visit a celebrated winery, including the visit to its wine cellars and wine tasting of the famous Chianti wine.

After leaving the winery and following back roads we make our way to the famous market town of Greve in Chianti – here we’ll spend about 40 minutes, we’ll visit the square dating from XIV century, lined with typical shops and where you’ll also find a picturesque butcher shop dating from XIX century. On the way to Greve we’ll make some photo-stops at panoramic viewpoints.

And to conclude our half day tours in Chianti, and our best of Florence & Tusany day tours, we will drive up to the beautiful fortified village of Montefioralle, probably one of the most ancient villages of the Chianti. The village affords also incredible views over the hilly Chianti wine area. After some free time to walk around this ancient village, we will return to Florence following back roads.
