9.00am - 11.00am - DOGE'S PALACE TOUR
The first part of this Venice day tours package is an in-depth tour of the most important Palace of Venice, the Doge's Palace, to appreciate the unique Venetian political form of government that helped Venice to become one of the most enlightened cities in the world. Hear tales of the infamous "Council of Ten" who used extreme measures to maintain order in the city, and learn about the role played by the Doge in Venetian society.

As you tour the Palace admire its richly decorated rooms, with paintings and frescoes by the most important Venetian painters, walk across the Bridge of Sighs, so-called by Lord Byron, that connects the Doge's Palace to its notorious prisons. The tour will also include a walk through part of the small and damp prisons, as the Doge’s Palace was also where justice was administered and where the city’s terrible prisons were to be found. Inside the Doge's Palace see “the mouth for secret accusations“, where even for a single anonymous accusations a person could be arrested and judged by the most feared tribunal of the city: The Council of Ten! At the conclusion of the first of this Venice day tours package you'll have free time for lunch.

Start the second part of the Venice day tours package which will focus on St. Mark’s Basilica, followed by a walk through areas of the enchanting Hidden Venice. We'll discuss the famous landmarks of St. Mark's square, you'll enjoy an in-depth tour of St. Mark's Basilica, to admire the astonishing interior covered in rich and lavish mosaics, the precious Pala D'Oro and you'll learn about the strong Byzantine influences on the city that helped Venice realize its own unique style of architecture.

Then, experience a very different Venice - off-the-beaten-track! Far from the crowds to see Venice at its best, crossing delicate bridges, admiring meandering canals, stopping at lovely small squares, and being entertained by the commentary of your expert guide as you relive the days of the Venetian Republic and the colourful characters that called this city home. During the tour you will also see the beautiful San Zacharia's church (exterior only), set in a quiet square, with its rich façade, a blend of gothic and renaissance style. This Venice day tours package will finish in St. Mark’s Square, by the poetic “Bridge of Sighs”.

That is for tour#37982 for the Doges Palace and St. Marks Cathedral.

Starting with the Doges Palace. First we were't able to arrive on time for the tour due to only having the slow vaparreto for
our transportation to St. Marks Square. I had contacted the office 2 times to see how this situation was to be handled and
they directed us to try to find our tour even being late. When we arrived your tour people were waiting for us and whisked us
right off to Andrea to get the tour started. Your services couldn't have been more amazing to us and they allowed us to enjoy
Venice to the fullest. I cannot begin to explain how much we appreciated everyone's assistance to make our tour still happen!!!!

Andrea was an amazing tour guide. We enjoyed him thoroughly and he was a wealth of information on the palace. He wasn't
a bit boring and kept our attention throughout the entire palace with all the historical information on the palace and it's Doges. He
had so many additional stories of interest that he completed this tour and we weren't ready for it to end!!! It was a pleasure seeing and
exploring the Doge's Palace with Andrea. Thank you again for accomadating our tardiness to this tour. We would have missed so much
of Venice if we couldn't have experienced the Palace.

Our 2nd half of the day was with Stephanie for St. Mark's Basillica. The Basillica was our first tour of a cathedral during our tour of Italy.
It was so breathtaking to see and also to have Stephanie explain so much about it both inside and out. We really enjoyed what she shared with us about St. Mark's Square and of the people during this time period. She gave us so much history of the whole area and we also enjoyed the walk around Venice. After the tour was over we were lucky enough to be able to find a restaurant that she recommended while in the back streets and it was delicious. We both had their seafood risotto and it was our best risotto in all of Italy! If my memory serves correctly we ate at Trattoria Giardinetto. Stephanie had much to share with us but while in the back streets during the walking tour there were times when the group was just too large and we would lose reception on our ear pieces. She did as best she could with her surroundings. She was full of much information to share with our group. We appreciated both tour guides taking the questions and giving us continual information of your beautiful Venice. Your tours made our trip to Venice and unforgettable experience.

I was on holiday for five days in Venice last week with my wife and grown-up daughter. This was our very first visit to Venice, although we love Italy and have already visited Rome twice, Florence and Pompeii.

On this occasion, we booked two of your Venice-based tours. I have sent in a report on both tours, but would like you to know what we thought about them directly as well, especially to be aware of our huge thanks and congratulations to your guides, Kristina and Arianne, who led the tours.

Kristina took us on the skip the line Venice walking tour including St Mark's. From the moment she started up, it was obvious that she was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about her subject, and she passed on lots of fascinating information in an interesting and humorous way. The time passed far too quickly!!! This is the perfect introduction to the subject for anyone arriving in Venice for the first time, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you, Kristina and Awenturre Bellissime!

We were equally delighted with our second guide, for the skip the line Doge's Palace tour. Arianne was truly superb. She knows so much and has an easy humorous way of conveying the wealth of information she has at her fingertips. We were quite sad and disappointed when the tour came to an end. We would have walked on with her happily for hours, discovering more and more about this unique and fascinating city and its history and culture.

Thank you for organising the tours and choosing such wonderful guides for us. I wanted you to know personally how much we appreciated our tours and our fabulous guides.
